Memberize now offers the ability for Administrators to eliminate duplicate member records in their database by merging the duplicate record into another member record.
To initiate, access the duplicate record's (the record to be eliminated) "Member Properties" page from the Member Center. Click on the "Merge Data Record" link in the horizontal menu near the top of the page.
When utilizing the Merge Data Record functionality:
The duplicate record that is intended to be eliminated is the CURRENT record.
The record to remain in the database upon completion is the TARGET record.
It is important to note that the member data (name, address, email, etc.) of the TARGET record will NOT be altered.
The following data items will be modified:
1. All event registrations (and event attendance data, if applicable) of CURRENT record will be transferred into TARGET record;
2. All recorded transaction records of CURRENT record will be transferred into TARGET record;
3. All recorded Member Credit transactions of CURRENT record will be transferred into TARGET record;
4. All Notes and Tasks associated with CURRENT record will be transferred into TARGET record.
5. All posted Classified Ads of CURRENT record will be modified to reflect TARGET record as owner;
6. All events for which the CURRENT record has been listed as an event leader will be modified to reflect TARGET record;
7. All dependent or subsidiary records will reflect the TARGET record as the new parent;
8. All iMessages (sent or received) of CURRENT record will be modified to reflect TARGET record;
9. All posted Vendor Center records of CURRENT record will be modified to reflect TARGET record as owner;
10. All Message Board posts of CURRENT record will be modified to reflect TARGET record as owner;
11. All Shopping Cart orders of CURRENT record will be modified to reflect TARGET record as purchaser.
Upon completion of the process, Administrators will be returned to the TARGET member record and the CURRENT member record will be PERMANENTLY removed.
MERGING OF DATA RECORDS IS PERMANENT AND CAN NOT BE UNDONE.
